Would of been nice

As I finish my nature walk with my princess & finish thanking God for all my blessings, & who blessed me with the gift of the spoken word, I am compelled to share. Most of you might not know, but my writing started as poems & evolved. So as I give him praise & thank him, he blows this idea into my ears & this is how I process it:

It would of been nice if my dad stayed with my mom;
But he didn't & that gave me the wisdom to know that situations don't last forever!
It would of been nice if I wasn't a teenage mom;
But I was & that gave me the will to become a better parent!
It would of been nice if my kids' dad stayed & helped me raise my kids;
But he didn't & that gave me the strength to push forward harder - & be there for my kids 150%
It would of been nice if I never met my ex husband;
But that just proved to me that I am still capable of love & being loved!
It would of been nice if my marriage worked out;
But it didn't & that gave renewed strength to continue my voyage on my own & strive harder!
It would of been nice if my mom was still alive;
But she isn't & that has given me courage to become a better person in all aspects of my life!
It would be nice to meet somebody on my level in every aspect of my life;
But if anything, life has taught me that well deserved things come in time & so I wait patiently & give thanks for all my trials, blessings & above all the people in my life!
The ultimate measure of a human being is not where you stand in moments of comfort & convenience, but where you stand @ times of challenge & controversy!
And I have proven myself time after time, & for that I only have one to thank, God!
